Glenn Melville is the director of the Carey Centre for Lifelong Learning. He attends Parklands Baptist Church.

What a joy it was to see 36 people recognised as fully registered Baptist pastors or leaders at our National Hui this year! Being registered means they have completed two years’ worth of personal and professional development and are endorsed by our Baptist Union of Churches (that’s all of us!).

Registration for 2024 closes on Friday, 13 December

If you need to register or renew your registration, contact Glenn Melville or Sarah Axford at the Carey Centre for Lifelong Learning

Being registered involves a commitment to ongoing learning, a core part of the endorsement (see the Registration Development Agreement.)

In addition to ongoing learning, registrants are committed to associating together at Baptist whānau events, receiving external supervision support from qualified and experienced supervisors, and engaging in an annual review of their Registration Development Agreement. These commitments ensure a healthy level of accountability, help people to lead with integrity and skill, and support their wellbeing and longevity in ministry.

The Carey Centre for Lifelong Learning administrates Baptist Registration on behalf of the Baptist Union and provides a diverse range of professional development options

Registrants need to successfully complete two years of Provisional Registration or the Pastoral Leadership/Youth Pastoral Leadership training through Carey Baptist College.

Congratulations again to the 36 people who achieved their full registration this year. Thank you for responding to the call of the Holy Spirit and for your commitment to lead with integrity and competency as you work to bring gospel renewal.
