Tim concludes our 'Jesus Manifesto' series from the Sermon on the Mount in Matthew 5-7 with Matthew 7:13-29. We see Jesus speaking about two paths, two trees and two houses. But what is he contrasting: good people and bad people or something else?

Tim continues in our Jesus Manifesto series, from the Sermon on the Mount. Here in Matthew 6:19-34 Jesus is teaching all about money, with a stark warning (in v24) that we cannot serve both God and Money. Here there are four questions from Jesus for us to work out if were devoted God or Money. The prayer sung at the end is 'My worth is not in what I own': https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vfFrJHuptUQ

Tim continues in our Jesus Manifesto series, from the Sermon on the Mount. Here in Matthew 6 we see the principle, in v1, of secret service. Jesus applies this principle to giving, then (next week) to praying and fasting. In v1-4 we see both wrong and right ways to give to the needy. (Correction: Tim mentions Henry Monmouth, who was gospel patron to William Tyndale, not John Wycliffe. Apologies for the historical error)

It is a beautiful thing to call God father and to give him glory as his salt and light children. It is a shocking vision to see the world as decay and darkness, more shocking to spend ourselves into that world as salt preserving and light bearing. It is a comfort and joy to be at peace with ourselves and with God our inner lives salted and illumined by kingdom breath.

Tim starts us in our Jesus Manifesto series, from the Sermon on the Mount. Here in the Beatitudes we see that the first four blessings are the way in to the kingdom and the second four are the way on in the kingdom. Here Tim focuses on v7, all about mercy.
