On Friday afternoon 7th November at our annual National Hui at Palmerston North Central Baptist Church, after the formal voting process had revealed Chris Chamberlain as our next National Leader, Blue Bradley (National Council) lead us as we farewelled outgoing National Leader Charles Hewlett after seven years of service in the role, and then welcomed in (Commissioned) our next National Leader, Chris Chamberlain.

Mark Westhuyzen, Director of Queensland Baptists Church Health, shares practical insights and real-life examples on cultivating a healthy, fruit-bearing church.  

Jan Ozanne, Children and Families Catalyst, draws on the image of the harakeke plant to show that a healthy, thriving family is one that places its young people at the centre - with Chris Chamberlain, Dave Diack, Casey Clark, Carolyn Kestle, Colin Greutzmacher, Cintia Rossaneis, and Steph Wood   

Baptist Māori reflect with gratitude on those whose faith and decisions paved the way for their ongoing, Spirit-led work of reconciliation.

Paul Jones, Principal at Carey Baptist College, unpacks Acts 2:41–47, showing how the early church’s rhythms and practices echo themes found throughout the Old Testament.

With the 2000th anniversary of the birth of the Church drawing near in 2033, Regional Leaders Peter Foster, Chris Chamberlain, Mike Warring, Rachel Murray, and Reti Ah-Voa call our Baptist whānau to join 51 million Baptists globally in the Acts 2 movement, embracing its five pathways of Bible, story, friend, care, and justice. 

Our newly elected National Leader, Chris Chamberlain, shares with Sarah Beisly his vision for unity, reconciliation, and the work that still lies ahead. He’s later joined by Ngaire Button, Jan Ozanne, Joe Desdemona, and Mark Westhuyzen, who reflect on what God might be saying to us as a Baptist movement.

Chris Chamberlain reflects on 1 Corinthians 12:12–27, reminding us that as individual members of the body of Christ, we are called to unity; drinking deeply from the one Spirit that makes us whole.
