Charles Hewlett is the national leader of the Baptist Union, and a member of Eastgate Christian Centre. Steve Worsley is a part-time pastor who also works in theatre. He is particularly interested in how the climate crisis affects people, and its outworkings in the Pacific.

A picturesque resort, a Kiwi wedding party, an island nation on borrowed time; THREE FORTY ONE: The Climate Musical is a new show from Toitoi Collective, the team behind the successful The Way of the Raukura - A Parihaka Musical.

With a compelling script, a standout cast and songs that range from hilarious to heartbreaking, Three Forty-One addresses our world’s climate crisis through the eyes of those most affected.

The story follows two siblings, luxury resort workers on an island like Tuvalu, whose ancestral homes are under threat from rising seas and extreme weather.

Watch the video above to hear Charles Hewlett talking with the show’s writer/director Steve Worsley about his inspiration for exploring the climate crisis through music and drama. [Or click here to open video in web browser.]
