But the angel said to them, Do not be afraid, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all people. Today in the town of David a Saviour has been born to you, he is Christ the Lord.” (Luke 2:10-11)

The birth of Jesus is the good news of great joy for all people, the angel proclaimed this news to the shepherds that they need not be afraid because a Saviour has been born who is their Lord. The shepherds received the message of the angel and went to Bethlehem to see the baby Jesus, after they had seen Jesus, they told everyone about the message of the angel.

The message of the birth of Jesus was good news then, and it has been good news for all people for the past 2000 years, and it continues to be the good news for generations to come.

On this Christmas Day, as we celebrate the birth of Jesus, may we experience His joy and peace in our faith communities and share it with those around us.

I wish you all a Happy Christmas
